Golden wok - Melbourne: Authentic & Fresh Chinese Cuisine with Generous Portions

The food is so good! The kung pao I had here is the best tasting Chinese food thing I've ever had in my life and I'm officially middle aged this year. This is what I imagine Chinese food tasting like at some fancy place in a big city, not at a strip mall behind a sandwich shop lol They have plenty of seating at a comfortable distance apart, really nice service and the food is efficiently made. The food looks amazing, the dinner portions are each, alone, probably able to feed two hungry people and include rice (mine wasn't yellow so not sure what's changed since those other reviews). Presentation is also great and it's cheaper than the last time I went to a fast food burger place or a fast casual sandwich and soup place. Bonkers. Oh and not for nothing but they have fountain sodas to help you down the giant plates. Please help keep this place open! You won't regret it! EDIT: P.S. I've ordered a few more times, like for delivery even, and I wanted to say THANK YOU for making the rice so fluffy. I didn't even know rice could be this nice and this is the only place I've experienced in the county that makes it this way. Feels fresh.

Tried this place because our regular spot has been going down hill. Was NOT DISSAPOINTED! Best Chinese food we've had in awhile. Delivery came hot and when I say fresh, OMG! It tasted like someone actually took pride in making it. Will be ordering from here from now on

We’re so glad we gave this restaurant a try! Takeout was impressively fast, and every bite was delicious. This place has quickly become our favorite spot for Chinese food. The shrimp in the house fried rice were huge, and all the dishes tasted incredibly fresh. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated too. Highly recommend!

Newly opened Chinese restaurant, clean and refurbished inside. The service was great and food was tasty. Servings were huge so there was plenty to take home. Pictured, sweet n sour chicken, vegetable foo young, and pork fried rice. Food was fresh, chicken tasted like chicken, will make this my new local favorite.

I've been ordering bourbon style chicken but with spicy garlic sauce for a few years now, so that's what I ordered here. At first the last taking my order seemed annoyed by the "special" order, but after receiving the food I no longer cared... I've eaten this dish COUNTLESS times at this point & no where else even comes close... The level of spice was phenomenal! I like my food just borderline uncomfortably spicy, this was right there! Unlike just places they served it with onion & scallion/green onion which was a wonderful touch of class... The seating area is much nicer than most take out places, this was more song the lines of an actual sit down fast casual eatery. Modern lighting. I can not recommend it enough, I've eaten it 5 times in the past 2 weeks, so it's not just a "good day" "got lucky" sort of deal, it's the real deal, consistently delicious!
